Al-Anon and Alateen Family Groups in Santa Barbara

How Does Al-Anon Work?

Al-Anon members attend one or more weekly meetings held at a variety of locations, days and times. Most of the meetings are open to all Al-Anon members. Some meetings are for specific types of members, such as adult children of alcoholics. Some meetings have specific themes, such as a Twelve-Step study or a book study, and all meetings listed are registered with the local district and the national Al-Anon World Service Organization (WSO).

There are over 20 Al-Anon meetings a week in the Santa Barbara, Santa Ynez Valley, Goleta and Carpentaria area. Meetings are listed on this site and in the printed Meetings Directories distributed at meetings. In addition, there is a weekly beginners meeting specifically for newcomers and a monthly speaker meeting. Although recommended, attending the beginners meeting is not required in order to attend other meetings. There are also Alateen meetings and a meeting conducted in Spanish.
